Engineering CACR implants HVAC Systems for the Pharmaceutic Complex
Altana Pharma Ltda, belongs to the Altana AG Group, Germany, produces medicines for the domestic and external market. In Brazil since
1974, Altana is one of the 20th main pharmaceutical industries of the country.
The Pharmaceutic complex, inaugurated in February 2002, occupies an area of 214 thousand m2, possesses nine interlinked buildings,
with built area of 36 thousand m2, 18.500 m2 totally acclimatized and 5.260 m2 of Clean Rooms with cooling capacity of 1.800 TR
(Tons of Refrigeration).
The project was idealized under the concept "Central Spin", a structure with 250 meters in length, that unifies all of the areas of
the complex, with processes totally automated and perfectly integrated. The productive area is composed by three levels of hygiene
classification C1, C2 and C3. When entering in any room, we recognized the classification for the coloration of the floor that is
going from clear to dark blue for the controlled areas.
The risk of cross contamination is eliminated by a cascade of differential pressures and air locks.
The HVAC System, in total accordance with US FDA's recommendations (US Food and Drug Administration) and Regulations of Anvisa
(National Agency of Sanitary Surveillance), have considered all requirement of the processes, the thermal comfort, the elimination
of the risks of contamination and the environment protection. Focused in the rational use of energy, during programmed stops or days of
